CASE STUDY:
Marie and Amadou are students with special educational needs and were recently enrolled in Kaimo Upper Basic School. Marie has severe visual impairment, while Amadou has mild intellectual and developmental disabilities. Marie struggles with coping with schoolwork and finds it challenging to access learning materials. On the other hand, Amadou finds it difficult to make friends and complete tasks at the stipulated time
Task:
In groups of 3–5, form a school-based inclusive education team. Collaboratively develop an inclusive response plan for both learners and present it as a mock team review.
Components:
Team roles assignment
- Assign one person as headteacher, one as SEN Support Staff, one as parent advocate, one as class teacher.
IEP Co-development
- Draft a simplified IEP for either Marie or Amadou using the provided template.
- Include goals, accommodations, and monitoring strategies.
Learning environment design
- Create a sketch or description of an adapted classroom setup that supports visual impairments and intellectual needs.
Stakeholder engagement strategy
- Propose how the school will involve Marie’s and Amadou’s families in their educational journey.
- Include community or district-level referrals (e.g. outreach to the regional education office or NGOs).
Team presentation
- Present your plan in 10 minutes or upload your report of not more than 500 words in the assignment box.
- Include visuals, decision rationale, and expected impact.

This assignment will be submitted in the assignment box by the end of module 2. It will earn you 20 %Task Overview:
You are the headteacher of your current school (or assigned school). Your role is to critically assess the school’s current records management practices and propose realistic improvements. Focus on both paper-based and digital systems.
Instructions:
1. Records Inventory Table
Complete an inventory of existing school records under the following categories:
- Student records
- Staff records
- Financial records
- Institutional records
Include for each:
- Format (paper/digital)
- Storage method
- Accessibility level
- Gaps or risks identified
2. Leadership Analysis
Write a reflection (200- 250 words) on:
- How current records management supports or hinders your role as headteacher
- Leadership actions you can take to improve records integrity, security, and accessibility
3. Action Plan Summary
Outline 3 practical steps you will take in the next school term to improve records management.
Use SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound).

Title: Policy Audit and Improvement Proposal
Task
Each participant will review their own school's current child protection or discipline policy and assess how well it addresses GBV and TFGBV. They will then draft a one-page improvement memo to their supervisor outlining:
- Gaps or weaknesses in the current policy
- Two practical improvements or additions
- Recommended actions for school leadership
Format: Written memo submitted in unit 14 assignment box.

Prompt:
Think of a time you encountered or heard about a situation involving gender-based violence or digital harassment in a school setting. How did it make you feel?
- What leadership qualities would be most important for handling such situations with care, empathy, and justice?
- How do your own biases, cultural beliefs, or past experiences influence your approach to GBV response?
