It is  not a hidden  fact that in  the process of implementing every  plan meant to bring success must encounter  some challenges. The SIP is not exceptional when it comes to challenges encountered in ìts implementation. Though, there are many challenges which I  faced in implementing SIPs,  I  am going to name just a few, which are most challenging. However,  every problem  has a solution , and  I was able to overcome the major challenges which I faced.

CHALLENGE.

1. INADEQUATE  RESOURCES: One of the major challenges in the SIP implementation

METHOD OF OVERCOME (solution) : Partnering with NGOs and local services by mobilising PTA/SMC support in  mobilising  funds and resources.

2. POOR DATA USAGE: This led to making decisions  that are not based on evidence , but on opinions.

METHOD OF OVERCOME(solution) : When teachers were trained on basic  data collection, interpretation   and use simple data such as attendance, results,  and WASH statistics.

3. WEAK STAKEHOLDER : Some parents were reluctant and saw their presence and participation as a mare waste of time and energy.

METHOD OF OVERCOME( solution): When parents were sensitised on SIP,  who are responsible, and it's purpose.

4. TEACHERS NOT TAKING OWNERSHIP: Many teachers feel that it is the responsibility of  the headteacher alone as they see it as a headteacher owned.

METHOD OF OVERCOME (solution) : When teachers were enlightened on SIP matters.
