Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools can be used in my school to track progress, identify challenges, and improve teaching and learning. Attendance registers are used daily to monitor learner attendance and punctuality. The information is reviewed weekly to identify learners who are frequently absent so that early support can be provided. Classroom observation checklists are used by the headteacher or senior staff to monitor teaching methods, learner participation, and classroom management.
Teacher reports and lesson records help to monitor curriculum coverage and lesson delivery. Learner assessments such as tests, quizzes, and homework are used to evaluate academic progress and identify learners who need extra support. Simple surveys or discussions with learners and parents are conducted to understand challenges affecting attendance, behavior, or performance.
Staff meetings are used to review M&E findings, share feedback, and agree on improvement actions. The collected data is analyzed monthly and summarized in brief reports that guide decision-making. Based on the findings, interventions such as learner counseling, parent engagement, teacher support, or teaching adjustments are implemented.
Through the regular use of M&E tools, the school can make informed decisions, improve accountability, and enhance overall school performance.
