1. How is guidance and counselling currently practice in your school? What challenges do you face in implementing it effectively?

In my school, guidance and counselling is practiced mainly through class teachers, senior teachers, and sometimes the headteacher. When learners have personal, academic, or behavioral problems, they are called aside and spoken to
privately. Teachers listen, advise, and help them think about choices. We also talk to learners during assemblies about good behavior, respect, and to study well. However, there are many challenges. Though we don't have trained counsellors, so most teachers are using their experiences and not the professional skills.
Secondly, there is limited time because teachers have a lot to do in class. Thirdly, the school population is large about four thousand pupils, and it is hard to give enough time to every pupil who needs help. Another challenge is lack of the private rooms for the counselling, so conversations are sometimes interrupted.
