SCHOOL RECORDS AND INFORMATION SYSTEM

1.       Which type of records do relay on most in your school?

·         In my school Tubakuta Lower Basic School the records I relay on most to make the school run effectively are; students record, staff records, financial records and instructional records.

·         These records help me carry my responsibility easily and also help me in decision making transparency and accountability.

2.       The challenges I face in organizing or protecting school records especially in rural or resources limited setting are: lack of proper base file with limited digitalization files and also retrieving correct information from data collection. Therefore in order to be an effective leader I should take decision and file correct information from records.

3.       Tools likes SEMIS now been introduce a secure social management information system to centralized data management. Therefore regular data update help to establish clear access and control of staff training on records keeping and protection of data and reason with correct information and accountability. These can also build a culture that treat records as pivotal assets for school improvement and effectiveness.

4.       The best practices I would like to recommend to other headteachers for improving transparency account ability and service delivery through records management is that, all records should be name, number and label for easy access and also kept in save and acquire place to prevent damage or lost document.
