1. My understanding of resources management is it enables the head teacher to be able to plan at any level and use the resources to the best interest of the school. Resource management is also the process in which the head teacher regulates and allocates the right resources to improve and maximize efficiency. It includes planning, scheduling and allocating resources to the right project. It can also minimize wastage and ensures that resources allocated to right places.
2. Effective Resource Management Practices can include the following:
. Asset register maintenance- To keep up to date record of all school resources (e.g. Books, equipment, furniture)
. Resources Allocation Planning- To distribute teaching materials, books, and equipment based on class size need. To also avoid wastage and shortages
These practices help schools make the most of limited resources while ensuring sustainability and accountability.
3. I motivate and support my staff through:
. Involvement and Participation- I always try my best to involve my staff in decision making processes especially in matters that affect them directly. This practice helps the staff to have a sense of ownership, and it promotes participation.
. Delegate Responsibility: As a head teacher, it is ideal to give responsibilities to senior teachers who are capable, responsive and willing. Example on classroom observation, curriculum implementation, inspecting the attendance registers of pupils', looking at pupils' notebooks.
-The HR strategies that worked well and need improvement my school is Staff Motivation and capacity building.
4. Human Resources-Clear staff development plans-To have regular trainings, mentorship, and promotion opportunities.
Financial Resources-Timely release and allocation of funds-This is avoiding delays in the school operations and development.
Material Resources-Equitable distribution-To equally distribute materials across classes and departments based on the actual need in the school.
In short, resource management should more transparent, efficient, and participatory to improve teaching and learning and staff satisfaction.
