Leading by examples

My style of leadership is that I lead by examples. For instance, When I say every member of staff should endeavour to achieve high attendance, I myself would do by best to ensure my own attendance is high.
Secondly, at the beginning of the academic year I would conduct an induction meeting for the general staff to spell out everyone's role and responsibility.  it is also important to sign service level agreement with the teachers so they know what is expected of them. Regular monitoring and supervision to ensure compliance is key.
Furthermore, as a leader it is important for me to have the following guiding principles:
  1. Honest
  2. Impartial
  3. Consistent
  4. Motivating and supportive
  5. Committed to the improvement of the school

Finally, I would also try to create excellent relationships with other stakeholders such as the the community members, Regional Education Directorate and donors.

In a nutshell, I would need to combine different leadership styles in order to succeed as a school manager.

Kind regards!
