Hello everyone,

My names are Nkiru Josephine Banjoko. An elearning specialist from Nigeria, i'm the online facilitator for the Commonwealth of Learning, Flexible Skills Development online course for TVET managers, West Africa axis.  I also consult for ECOWAS Commission. I run an elearning firm, eLearning Consult, where i introduce teachers to integrating ICT into the teaching and learning process. I have to cope with the challenges of insecure internet connection, inconsistent power supply, low technology skills of teachers.  That means i design online courses around these challenges...less internet intensive, time saving, using available, affordable and accessible technologies.

I got interested in elearning when i was the training manager of a telecom company in 2003. Moved to the University of Ibadan, Distance Learning Centre to better understand the role of technologies in education, 2006. Candace Thille of the Carnegie Mellon University, Open Learning Initiative, put me through on open learning, open education designing online courses and facilitating online, 2007. Got involved with UNESCO OER. Started consulting for ECOWAS Commission, 2008 and floated eLearning Consult, 2011.

i have a postgraduate diploma in Teacher Education and it's been fun interacting with teachers...though challenging.  Been training teachers for almost 12 years now.

I really look forward to the project at NTI and working with everyone.

I'm Ibo, married to a Yoruba man, with 3 kids at the university.  I speak Ibo, Yoruba, English, struggling with French.  I can train fluently in Yoruba and love doing so with market women!
