Re: COL-NTI Green Teacher in Nigeria

by Deleted user -

Hi, We are a team of two formal education and teacher education professionals, Parthesh (Mr.) and Shivani (Ms.) from India. We were involved in launching the Green Teacher Diploma programmes for teachers in India in partnership with COL in the year 2005.

Recently we have been engaged by COL to support Dr Umar and the NTI team at Nigeria to adapt and launch the COL's Green Teacher Programme in Nigeria. The programme has been designed as a 1 year diploma and an in-service training programme for teachers of primary and middle schools in Nigeria.

Specifically, we were involved in the Module Development process for the Green Teacher Nigeria course. There are 4 Modules in the year long Diploma programme and all 4 have been developed now.

Further, the Programme roll-out material--Learners' Handbook, Facilitators' Handbook and the Programme Brochure--have also been developed.

The Material is now being designed at the NTI. The plan is to have the GT Nigeria programme launched in the coming week. We wish all at COL and NTI the very best for the same,

Parthesh-Shivani, India
