i embarked on enrolment campaign when i was posted to my current school Baati Ndarr LBS because the enrolment was too low. There was this community who will not enroll their children due to the fact that they were against western education. They believed that western education was associated to Christianity and they never liked it.

So when i came to the school i was told about the village and we went there and i made sure that we were there exactly during prayers time and we prayed with them in the mosque and prayed for each other inside the mosque and i made sure that we had the meeting inside the mosque and unfortunately the imam objected to it and asked us where we were from and later realised that we were from the school. He said he thought that we never prayed because we were teachers and in the school. That was how we immediately started enrolling children even before we had the meeting. After the meeting they told us to help them to have an Annex ECD for children who were small to walk to the school. i also persuaded the RED to help us appoint an Islamic teacher from the village as a motivating factor. we had 35 children and the Annex ECD had 65 kids.

The villagers were very happy to have an Annex in their village and someone was earning money through the initiative. as we stand now the enrolment of the school stands at 310 children plus 65 kids in the Annex ECD.
