1. SIP is used in my school to guide development and decision -making through involving stakeholders (staff, SMC, Student council). These components of stakeholders are part of decision making body and equally contribute to School Improvement Plan. Prioritised areas are identified which involve pupils' performance in both internal and external assessments, Community participation, sports, WASH, capacity building for both teaching staff and SMC, etc.
2. Consultation is made through staff meetings, School Management Committee Meetings, Student Council Meetings where suggestions are given which is later develop as SIP that aligns with MoBSE priorities.
3. Challenges faced during the implementation process are:
a. There is always delay in fund disbursement which obstructs the provision of teaching and learning resources in school.
b. When meetings are summon for SMC and Mothers Club, its difficult to have a quorum. This can have a negative impact in the formation and implementation process of the SIP.
c. Time giving for staff meeting and student council meeting is very minimal as this could cause incompletion of discussions.
4. Successful initiatives that emerged from the SIP are as follows:
Re-enforcement of capacity building for the teaching staff on areas identified by internal monitors during classroom observations. The trainings focus on Methodology, reading ability of pupils, record keeping amongst others. When teachers are equip, performance for pupils is always bound to be good.
