Continuation from number 2: clean-up activities, sensitisation, and providing materials or support. Together, these actions build a shared culture of responsibility and improve the the cleanliness and sustainability of school hygiene facilities.

3) Key challenges in implementing WASH include limited funding, inconsistent learner hygiene habits, low staff commitment, unreliable water supply, and maintenance problems. These were addressed through community and PTA support, forming hygiene clubs, giving staff clear, roles improving water storage, regular monitoring, and engaging parents and local leaders to build shared responsibility for school hygiene.

Madam, you are right, limited funding is a challenge to cater for necessary WASH items.

You’ve made an important point, Morri. Limited funding really does make it difficult to provide all the essential WASH materials schools need. But even with those constraints, strong leadership and community involvement can help us stretch the little we have. When everyone understands the value of WASH and contributes in small ways—whether through awareness, participation, or shared responsibility—we’re able to maintain better standards despite the financial challenges.
