Hello Facilitator,
1. In my school i set up a guidance and counselling committee which involved the SMT, SMC, mothers club, pupils and staff. This committee is responsible to support, guide and counsel distress learners. They work together to help learners with emotional and social problems.
2. Teacher to pupils [one to one] discussion method b. organising quiz spelling debate and talent competition.
The counselling traits which i personally embody strong in is;
Empathy, supportive, confidentiality and being an active listener without judging.
The counselling qualities i usually demonstrate in my school is kindness, asking them their problems listening to them and solving some of their problems.
The qualities i find challenging is the information they given weather it is genuine or not.
Embracing some of the traits will help the school to address and guide the learners who face these challenges.
