In my school as a lowerBasic setup, guidance and counselling  focus on basic lifestyle. That is teaching  pupils social skills, emotion regulation and how to build friendship amongst individuals. In the other hand ,I will  enforce academic support where teachers help children with learning  difficulties  or set backs to be in line with other colleagues. Give support  to students who needed it most. was  my my priority. Emotional support   includes  a safe space for everyone  in the school premecies to conducive teaching and learning.                               Guidance  and counselling  in  lower basic is rewarding but also challenging.Amongst the challenges   faced were::   Teachers work load in class.   Large number of students and limited time at school..Cultural norms making it hard for children open up feelings.Theidentification of most needy students to give support was also challenging  On the other hand in supporting staff in guidance and counselling  enhancing training  workshops was key.as it encouraged teachers working with counsellors. Establish  clear process for them to refer students for support. Foster open dialogue between teachers counselor and parents.

Hello Sis,
you make very good points like the cultural norms which makes so many children not opening up to their social problems

Hello Madam,
I agree with the challenges you stated that teachers work load and large class of pupils, if a teacher is over loaded he or she will not have enough time to support the children we distress.
