the following leadership strategies can help guidance and counselling in school especially where teachers are not trained:
1. create social and emotional sessions into the daily assemblies and also discuss issues that affects children's life in the society and how they can be avoided.
2.provide basic training for teachers who are very caring for children and create spaces in the school where children can trust and meet either teachers or their peers for support.
3. invite personnels who are very experienced in counselling to have special talks with the children and give symptoms of certain issues that can affect their future and how they can be avoided.
4. provide special training for children who are very serious and you think can help their fellow to be engage in peer support and help new students.
5. establish policies like anti-bullying, sexual harassment, conflict resolutions, dress code etc and sensitise all stakeholders on the policies and how they could be reinforced.
6. offer regular supervision from the counsellors or responsible teachers and also create students mediator for minor conflicts.
7. integrate counselling into the existing school structures or clubs and encourage students to be members and have open days where they discuss issues affecting the future of youths.
8. include mental health goals into the school improvement plan to help support counsellors where they need financial support.
