in collecting and interpreting PMS data the challenges we face are numerous and most significantly are amongst others:
1. Late delivery of the PMS/SLA forms to schools thus causing difficulty in counting and entering data accurately in large amounts.
2. schools should be provided the computed template as schools have computers so that we can interpret the data correctly.
3. Having different people collecting data even when training is not provided thus facing difficulty in explaining it to the teachers.
in trying to solve these problems we face in our schoolsÂ
1. we improvised templates and also create columns where we collect data before the forms are available in schools
2. we use the local way of calculating the data by dividing the actual scores for each component divide by the target scores for the component times 100% to give the raw percentages to the various teachers before the real data is provided.
3. provide school-based training for the senior teachers who are assigned to collect the data to have basic knowledge of the way the data is collected and entered.
