proper records keeping is important for school leadership for the following reasons:

  1. to keep track of the students' performance especially when students' parents or other stakeholders are interested in the performance history, or for transcripts etc.
  2. for easy access for information and for auditing reasons, where officers urgently need the information.
  3. they keep and maintain confidentiality of students' performance records and staff appraisal and performance records.
  4. for accountability and transparency purposes in terms of financial transactions.
