Greetings Facilitator,

  1.Intellectual disabilities and intellectual disabilities

2.The are identified by their class teachers and assessed by the itinerant special needs monitor for the cluster. There are no tools the strategies we use and we found it effective is by sitting them with their colleagues to support them.

3.Seating them close to the teacher and the black board and their colleagues to support them, by giving them extra time to complete their task because they need more time then others.

4. Discussing their problems with their class teachers and parents during SMT,SMC and PTA meeting.

Visiting them at their house trying to know their problems sometimes the itinerant teacher will invite their parents for a discussion.

5.Involving them in what ever we are doing and accepting them and praising them for every good deed and correcting them for their mistakes.

They are improving in terms of socialization, their writing skills  develop and speaking skills are also developed.

It has improve due to several discussion with parents and with the use of guidance and counselling  in the school now children do not see them differently , they see them as themselves. We also laid strong rules and regulation for discrimination in the school.
