  1. What categories of SEN are most visible in your school, and how do they impact teaching and leadership decisions?
  • The most visible categories of Special Educational Needs (SEN) in my school are learning difficulties, speech and language impairments and behavioural or emotional challenges.  Some of them can write but struggle with reading or understanding instructions
  • These needs strongly  influence teaching decision as teachers must differentiate their lesson use visual aids.  teacher should provide one on one  support  and adjust assessment methods to suit individual learners.  school leaders must plan for teacher training on inclusive education.

in the first one the child has multiple impediments and therefore needs different approaches to help address his/her disability, and one of it is inviting the itinerant teachers who are trained in special education needs to do a deeper assessment of the level of severity of the challenges they are facing and give a better advice on what actions are needed.

Overall addressing these SEN categories helps improve teaching quality and ensures that every child has a fair chance to learn and succeed.
