the process of identifying and supporting learners with SEN are as follows,

  • Observing learning behaviours-noticing difficulties with focus and communications.
  • Reviewing records-checking previous learning profiles ,reports and individual Education plans.
  • Open communication-encouraging learners to shares any challenges they face.
Tools that are using in aiding learners with SEN.
  • Classroom observation checklist
  • learning behaviour logs 
  • Baseline assessments.

it is also important to also link with the itinerant teacher for further assessment and better advises. its also important to refer them to GOVI for professional and technical advises.

Hi Alhagie,
you have made very good suggestions on how to support learners with SEN ,however if reaching to the people mentioned may be difficult then you may invite them to the school and facilitate their transport cost.

You have come up with good suggestions on how to support learners with SEN but you can also get a special mentor to help teachers that have SEN students .Thanks for sharing your experiences.
