1 .Assessment data in my school is used not only for reporting, but to improve teaching and learner support. Results from continuous assessment, exams, and NAT are analysed to identify weak subjects, topics and learners performing below benchmark. Teachers adjust lesson plans re-teach difficult areas, and organised  remedial support.

Low-performing learners are identified early and given targeted assistance, sometimes involving parents. progress is monitored termly, and findings informs the school improvement plans(SIP) to improve overall performance.

2 Competency-based assessments can unlocked learning by focusing on specific skills and empowering students. Key leaderships decisions include teacher training, clear learning targets, student-centred approaches,  and regular feedback. This approach shifts the focus from grades to mastery, promoting deeper learning and student agency. 

3. To foster a school-wide culture of reflective assessment focus on:

      . Leadership buy-in and modelling 

       . Teacher collaboration and training.

       . Students voice and feedback.

        . Clear expectations 

.        . Regular feedback loops 

          . Celebrating growth

    Try strategies like exist  tickets,  peer observation, reflective journals, and data-informed discussions. Start small and scale up.

4 To reduce asset anxiety, leadership can:

     . Focus on learning over grades 

      . Communicates transparently 

       . Provide resources and emotional support.

       . Foster a growth mindset culture

       . Offer exam prep and stress management for high-stakes exams.

    5 For fair assessments in rural or under-resourced schools, consider:

        . Digital tools like google forms, module Kizi, WhatsApp

        . Staff support: Peer review, mentorship, collaborative planning.
