Monitoring and evaluation systems are important for improving school performance, but if not properly designed they can create fear, stress, and resistance among staff. In my context as a leader, balancing accountability and supporting teachers is necessary to make sure monitoring and evaluation improved learning rather than seen as a punishment or watch hunt.
