In my school Chabai Lower Basic School improvement plan (SIP) preparation was connected to data based collection of different components were it involved full participation of the SMC, staff representatives of different subjects, parents, students representatives eg .the headboy and the headgirl of the school all inclusive.In preparing the school improvement plan,teachers were continuously monitored and data was collected in identifying areas that need attention especially in the areas of teaching and learning.In this component staff are trained on capacity building.
The strategy used to get the SIP prepared stakeholders were initially invited to a general PTA meeting to discuss need to be improved after identifying the school areas of low performance,major and minor maintenance.
Despite the challenges that hindered the provision of the SIP yet still its help to improve teacher's record keeping and lesson delivery which improve students Academic performance. Its also facilitate the proper usage of the school funds accordingly as planned.
