1 Reflection:
The school I supported had strong leadership, with a head teacher who set clear goals and encouraged teacher collaboration. It used student data effectively to identify teaching gaps and guide instruction. Stakeholder engagement was also strong, involving parents and the community in school activities and decision-making. Together, these strengths created a supportive, results-oriented school culture that improved student outcomes and fostered community connections.
2 Discussion Prompt:
To engage parents and community members in SIP development, I would use flexible meeting times, clear and accessible communication, personal invitations, small incentives like workshops, involve local leaders to build trust, and highlight how their input positively impacts the school. These strategies encouraged participation and ensure the SIP reflects community needs.
I have used collaborative planning, involving teachers, parents, and community members, alongside student data, to guide school initiatives. Success es included a parent-led literacy program that boosted reading levels and partnerships with local businesses for resources. Barriers such as low parental attendance and initial community scepticism were addressed through flexible meeting times, n clear communication, and engaging local leaders. These strategies improved student outcomes and strengthened community involvement.
