1. Through collaboration with partners and NGOs i was able to secure a WASH Hand Washing Facility for the school from The Gambia Red Cross Society to ensure good hand washing practices are provided for all the students.
2. through the same project i was able to also provide training on best hygiene practices for a school that look a clean and same environment for all learners.
3. There is a plan to further train the the community on proper hand wash to give much needed education on keeping good health.
3. The challenges we face so far is to give access to all category of students to use the toilets especially the differently able children. This can be done by providing RAMS to give good access to the physically challenged students. It is a challenge
Having the resources and maintaining them is also a big challenge.
4. Head teachers can always network with the relevant partners and authorities to be able to have what is needed to develop the school. I was opportune to my capacity as The Chairman of The Central River Region Red Cross Branch of The Gambia Red Cross to provide ELEVEN SCHOOLS WITH BOREHOLES, HANDWASH FACILITIES, AND HANDWASH MATERIALS AND TRAINING AND MY SCHOOL AS THE VENUE FOR ALL THE TRAINGS THIS WAS POSSIBLE THROUGH COLLABORATION.
2. Through hard training and advocacy i was able to make the students and parents alike are all subjected to much awareness on how to keep the facilities of the school clean and being maximally used such s keeping kettles clean and safe. Ensuring that soap is kept at the toilets regularly and regular cleaning of the toilets and maintain the hand washing facility well.
