Challenges faced in collecting PMS data

Collecting and interpreting PMS data at times comes with some challenges. A  major challenge is incomplete or inaccurate data, as some staff fail to submit reports on time or provide information that lacks clarity. To address this, I introduced clear guidelines, regular reminders, and cross-checking of submissions with attendance records and activity reports to ensure accuracy. Another challenge is the lack of proper reporting formats across departments, which makes comparison difficult. I resolved this by developing a one PMS templates and ensuring all units used the same performance indicators and rating scales.

Additionally, limited understanding of PMS indicators sometimes leads to misinterpretation of data. To overcome this, I invite the cluster monitor to enlightened staff and provided explanations for each indicator to guide all staff. Subjective judgments and bias in performance ratings also pose challenges. I addressed this by encouraging evidence based assessments and requiring supervisors to support ratings with documentation.
