Unit 12 Discussion – Planning for Progress: Leading School Improvement

Completion requirements

Forum Description

This forum invites you to reflect on how school improvement planning (SIP) can be used to drive meaningful change. As headteachers, your ability to lead data-driven, inclusive planning processes is key to achieving long-term goals.

Please respond in 200–300 words and engage with at least two peers by offering constructive feedback, asking clarifying questions, or sharing similar experiences.

Discussion Prompt

School Improvement Plans (SIPs) are not just documents; they are roadmaps for change. In The Gambia, SIPs help schools align with MoBSE priorities while responding to local needs.

Let’s reflect:

  1. How have you used SIPs in your school to guide development and decision-making?
  2. What strategies do you use to involve teachers, learners, parents, and community members in the planning process?
  3. What challenges have you faced in implementing SIPs, and how have you overcome them?
  4. Can you share an example of a successful initiative that emerged from your SIP? What made it work?

Let’s learn from each other and strengthen our planning practices to improve outcomes for all learners.

Regards,

LAMBS Facilitator
