With the rapid rise of technology - facilitated gender- base violence  TFGBV most schools are not fully prepared to protect students online.

One major challenge is school policies tend to focus on physical safety rather then digital space. Even though students spend a lot of time online, many teachers do not have any training to identify, prevent or respond to TFGBV such as cyberbullying, online sexual harassment and image -base abuse. Sometimes students are afraid or ashamed to report to the school authorities for help.

However, schools can keep pace if there are stronger accountability and leadership, also by integrating TFGBV in the school curriculum and training teachers on online safeguarding and working with parents and relevant authorities.

In conclusion raising awareness required continuous capacity building for teachers, parents and the community at large.
