As a headteacher, it is my duty to support teachers and staff to identify students' emotional and behavioral needs. The following could be ideal steps to effectively facilitate this phenomena.
Promotion of a safe and supportive school climate.
Strengthening peer and staff collaboration.
Building teachers' awareness - training teachers to recognize early signs of emotional and behavioral difficulties, and provision of basic guidance skills.
Integration of emotional support in teaching
Creation of a clear reporting and support system such as establishing a focal person or committee, and keeping confidential records of concerns and actions taken.
Engaging parents and providing access to external support.
How to support teachers and staff in identifying and responding to learners' emotional and behavioral needs.
