Your team of facilitators from the University of Rwanda-College of Education and other institutions in Rwanda and Nigeria will provide you with support during the course through communities of practice in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics, allowing you to focus your learning within your specific STEAM discipline while staying connected to the full community.
BIOLOGY COMMUNITY
MARCELLIN RUTEGWAMarcellin Rutegwa, PhD, teaches Biology to pre-service secondary school teachers at the University of Rwanda-College of Education. He is also the coordinator of STEM Education PhD programmes and trains in-service teachers in using learner-centered teaching STEM approaches.
CHEMISTRY COMMUNITY
PRISCA BYUKUSENGEPrisca Byukusenge is an Assistant Lecturer of Chemistry and a Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator at East African Christian College, holding a Master’s Degree in Chemistry Education. She is passionate about innovative and active approaches to teaching and learning. She has been involved in two courses on Teaching Chemistry with Technology through PhET Interactive Simulations.
LEONARD NUNGULeonard Nungu is an educator with a passion for science. Leonard holds a Master of Education in Chemistry Education from the University of Rwanda and a Bachelor of Education (Science) from the University of Malawi. Currently, he teaches chemistry and science at Wellspring Academy, a Cambridge International School in Kigali, Rwanda. He is an independent researcher in STEM education, focusing on fostering a love for STEM.
PHYSICS COMMUNITY
VICTOR DUSABUMUREMYIVictor Dusabumuremyi, MSc, is Assistant Lecturer of Physics at the University of Rwanda, specializing in applied physics and physics education, with 20+ years of teaching experience at various levels.
PASCASIE NYIRAHABIMANAPascasie Nyirahabimana, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer of Physics and Head of the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Physical Education at the University of Rwanda-College of Education. Her current work centers on advancing STEM education through the use of multimedia technologies including virtual labs, simulations, animations, and instructional videos to strengthen learners competencies.
MATHEMATICS COMMUNITY
UCHE SCHOLASTICA ANADUAKAProfessor Uche Anaduaka, PhD, teaches Science Education (Mathematics) at the University of Abuja, Nigeria, She is a staunch advocate for integrating technology into education, recognizing its potential to foster a deeper appreciation for learning.
JEAN CLAUDE DUSHIMIMANAJean Claude Dushimimana is Mathematics Lecturer at the University of Rwanda-College of Education. He specializes in science education focusing on ICT integration in mathematics teaching and learning.
