This page describes how to use the Canvas system, where this course takes place.

IVLST uses the Canvas learning management system (or “LMS”), designed specifically for courses with large numbers of participants. While you'll learn how the Canvas system works simply by using it day to day, you will want to know the basics for making your way around the platform to get a solid start in the course.
Logging into the Canvas network
- The login URL for this course is canvas.instructure.com. Be sure to bookmark that link for quick reference later.
- If you use an iPad or other tablet or phone with a mobile app, the "Institution Name" for this course is canvas.instructure.com.
Canvas navigation basics
The video below will introduce you to the basics of finding your way around your course in Canvas, including the dashboard, the home page, and the modules list. We encourage you to continue to explore this course to discover all the features available to you.
Canvas works best on desktop or laptop computers. However, there are apps available for your tablet or phone. If you prefer to use an app, follow the guides below.
