Commentary

Undertaking an activity such as Abdul did with your class may make you feel apprehensive, but if you set up the activity carefully you may be pleasantly surprised at how helpful students can be. However, there are also other ways to gather feedback that are more informal and will still help you to reflect on what happened. For example, just asking at the end of a lesson if the students enjoyed it, and what they liked doing most and least, will give you some idea of their involvement and learning and what it suggests about your planning.
